This home made cleanser smells lemony fresh. It’s gentle, effective and so easy to make, and…it costs practically nothing!
1/4 cup sunlight dish soap
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Water
10 drops essential tea tree oil (optional)
Combine soap and lemon juice, add water to fill a spray bottle. For a disinfecting action, add tea tree oil.
Use all over the house for general clean-up.
Above recipe should have indicated a LEMON peel but I’m sure the orange would work too.
Another great cleaning recipe is to fill a Large Mason jar with vinegar and then the peel of one orange. Leave this mixture for 2 weeks and then use to clean. I put my mixture in a spray bottle and go crazy cleaning and spraying everywhere.
Hello Pat,
Thanks for this one Pat! This is the second time someone has told me about this cleaner. On Mother’s Day, my daughters and I went on a studio tour and met an herbalist. She had a large pickle jar with Orange peels and white vinegar on her display table. It sounded so simple we wanted to try it – so we did! I can wait to use it. Don’t you love making your own natural cleaners? It’s so simple, they smell much better and are so much safer. Thanks for letting us know how long to leave the mixture stewing for, because we couldn’t remember what she had told us!
